About The Western North Carolina Housing Partnership

The Western North Carolina Housing Partnership (WNCHP) is a nonprofit affordable housing developer. Since 1994, we’ve been investing in communities where housing can make a meaningful impact on the quality of life for those facing more challenging economic circumstances.

Our Mission:

Together with our partners, we develop high-quality, affordable housing solutions for older adults, workforce housing and special needs in the 31 western-most counties of Western North Carolina. Our dedication to human-centered design and market-rate quality ensures that these homes foster dignity and well-being for our residents.

We Partner for Impact:

We collaborate with seasoned experts in multi-family housing development who share our deep roots in North Carolina. Their 50+ years of combined experience ensures quality and understands the local needs.

We Invest In Communities:

We join forces with public and private entities to create high-quality, affordable housing options for critical populations. From workforce communities to seniors and individuals with special needs, we serve 31 counties across Western North Carolina. We have developed or partnered in the development of over 600 apartment homes in Western North Carolina.

Exceptional Leadership:

Our board boasts dedicated leaders representing diverse fields like local government, aging services, economics, finance, and banking. Many have served for 20 years, shaping our cohesive vision and driving success in meeting rural community needs.
